Last Post of the Year!!

Happy New Years (Eve) everyone!! This is my LAST post for 2008, can you believe it?? Wow, where the heck did 08' go?? I'm here laying in bed, thinking how great 2008 has been. This year has truly been so blessed for me and I just sit back and contemplate how on Earth can I make 2009 better?? There are so many goals I have, and to be realistic, there is no way I can accomplish each and every single goal. But I CAN make process in each endeavor. This year has been so blessed, my life had so many great things happen to it. And the world had many great things happen as well. Let's have a little highlight!!

-We had a beautiful vacation in Hawaii.
-2 BIG engagements for my family!!
-My Aunt Marisa graduated from college.
-Both my Aunt got new career jobs.
-My Mom finally met Rey's parents.
-I got a great job this year.
-Obama's elected.
-Celebrated our 3 year anniversary.
-New big bedroom where we got new bedroom furniture!

This year has been so amazing. It's crazy!! I think the best part of this year was how close we've gotten to our family (both sides). I am so grateful for the relationship I have with my Mom and how she's always been there for me. I am grateful the relationship I have with Rey's parents and his siblings. I am so grateful for Rey and the relationship we have together. I have had such a blessed 2008. I don't know how 2009 can get any better. But I have so many hopes and goals!! I will keep shooting for the stars.

We just got home a hour ago from celebrating Gen's (Rey's sister) birthday. It was nice. We watched a movie (Bedtime Stories) and then had some late night grubbing. Yummy!! I'm stuffed. My birthday is just around the corner. Crazy, I'm going to be 21!!

Well guys, I just wanted to wish you all a great 2009!! Thank you all for being apart of my life this year, I hope to continue to build more great memories in 09' and in the years to follow. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for following my life and reading my blog. The support is amazing, I love you all. Happy New Year everyone, have fun and please be safe!!

Happy New Years,
Missie

Retiring??

I think I may have to hang up my snowboard soon and retire. This Sunday we went to hit the slopes. A car packed with crazy folk (Rey, his sister Gen, his brother Ryan, Ryan's friend Jason, Jason's GF, and meeee!!) Rey's family usually goes to Sierra but this time we were to Northstar. This was my very first time at Northstar so I wasn't as familiar with the resort, the plazas, the lifts, or the trails. Anyways, I had a snowboarding accident as we did out very last run of the day. I fell on top of the pole lift. (Its a pole that you hold onto while you're on ur skiis or board and it drags you across the flat area to another trail where there's slopes. If you have skiis then you just put the pole between your legs and theres a circular toliet plunger looking thing for you to sit on but if your on your board then you just hold on for dear life) I've never been on it before because the trails I go on are all steep and no flat areas. So anyways the first time I tried this thingy I fell on but broke my fall. I had to waddle back to the start and had to try it again so I can get to the rest of the group. This time the worker tried to pushed me along with it but my loose foot wasn't on the rubber on my board so I wasn't balanced and was literally dragged with one foot in the air and the other foot connected to the board while the pole was slipping and I remember falling face forward with the pole going into my chest. I woke up gasping for air and was some how now face forward laying on my back and having an ashema attack. I don't remember who was with me but workers were called and I was gasping for my breathe as I threw up blood. I was rushed down the mountain and dont remember much but damn did it hurt how they took me down. I don't know what I was strapped to but something dragged me down the hill and we had to stop like 3 times so I can throw up. I went into an ambulance and remember over hearing the resort worker updating the ambulance worker and they said I turned blue two times while bringing me down and that I was pale yellow now. I was sent to the ER where I was freakin frozen to life. LOL. Literally my whole body was numb and my arms, hands, legs, and feet were stuck. My hands were up and frozen like a zombie for over 2 hours!! They said my body went into shock. Rey was such a sweetheart. The nurse came in saying, "Ma'am you have visitors that have been asking to see you, are you ready for guest??" I said yes but the doctor said not yet. Then she came back in again said, "Okay how about now?? He's jones'in to see you." It felt so good to know that he was so anxious to see me and make sure I was okay. He has been so helpful trying to aid me back to good health. My back has been killing me from the fall and so I can't really move my back or arms (or head!!) and he's helped me so much by getting me food in bed, helping me out with bathing, and even driving me to school!! I'm home now but still in so much pain.. I'm thinking I should have stayed there for them to run tests but honestly I just wanted to go home so I asked to be let out and denied any xrays because I thought it was most likely just going to be internal and external bruises with aches and pains. But breathing still hurts like theres a brick on my chest. And my body is aching in pain and I can't move much. In additional I've got a head ache like mad. If I don't improve within a week I'll go see my doctor. I think I'll retire boarding soon...

Anyways, it's 3 days til Christmas!! Well only about 20 more minutes til it's 2 days til Christmas!! I can't wait!! I already saw my Dad this past Saturday!! We exchanged gifts and he got me the cutest pink sweater and a beautiful black soho Coach purse!! Thanks Daddy!! I got him a nice wooden watch holder to hold all of his Movado watches. I also got him something else but I accidently left it at home so he hasn't gotten it yet so I have to remain hush hush until I give it to him because I don't want him to run across this and read what goody I got him!

This year Rey's family will be hosting a huge party this year at their house. We usually have it at his Aunt Julie's house but this year it will be at his Mom and Dad's. So Christmas Eve is coming up and we'll be attending midnight mass. Then after mass is over we're going home to his parents to have a dinner for his immediate family members. After our late dinner (really late dinner!! It'll be like 2 am!!) we'll open presents and then head to bed. Then when we wake up we'll be having a big party!! My Mom and Shirley will be coming to the Christmas party, so that's exciting!! It'll be the first time the families will have met. Hard to believe because this is after all our 4th Christmas together!! Ahahaa!!

New Years is coming.. And that's our 3 1/2 year anniversary!! I always like to think the world is celebrating our half anniversay on this day (New Years). LOL. And you know what's funny?? This year on our 3 year anniversary the new law of bluetooth when driving got inforced and now on out 3 1/2 year anniversary the new law of no texting while driving is being inforced. Man California sure does like to celebrate our anniversary with new laws!! Ahahaa!!

My 21st birthday is creeping up, January 8th to be exact!! (Elvis's birthday too!!) And we'll be celebrating at San Jose's Dave and Busters so come on down and get your drink on with me at 8 p.m. The next day (Friday, January 9) We're suppose to head out on a choo choo train to Tahoe to go boarding and gamble a bit but there may have to be a change of plans because I think I need a break from the board (or retire!!). I hope you all are able to come to Dave and Busters to celebrate with me though. You're presence means a lot to me! :)

I hope you all have a fantastic holiday season with your loved ones. And have a safe New Years. May 2009 be as good as 2008 has been to you!! Love you all!! MUAHS!! xoxo!!

My Mom's ENGAGED!!

My Mom just texted me to tell me she just got engaged last night!! Although Prop. 8 (same sex marriage) in California hasn't over turned she still proposed (and they plan to "marry each other" even if at the moment is isn't legal. She still loves her partner Shirley and they want to commit to each other in front of their loved ones.) So last night it was their anniversary. And my Mom made the sweetest scrapbook of no photos, instead it was all of the emails compiled that they had sent each other, all the love notes left behind, and my Mom even typed out every voicemail!! Shirley and all of her friends had an idea that my Mom would propose on their anniversary and I totally wanted it to come as a surprise so we decided to do it in a way that it seemed like the night was over and there was no way she'd get a proposal. AKA go to bed and that's it!! At 11:11 (usually AM because Shirley is always asleep at 11:11 pm) and at 5:55 (am and pm) Shirley always makes a wish. So last night at 11:11 my Mom woke up Shirley to say along the lines of, "Honey why don't you wake up and make a wish on 11:11 for our anniversary?" And then my Mom proposed!! Of course Shirley said yes, and to finish it off I believe my Mom gave Shirley the last little present.. The last page of the scrapbook which is the page that shows my Mom proposed!! I'm so happy for my Mom that she is happy. Glad she FINALLY found her life long partner. And YAY my Mom and I are engaged at the same time. Haha, how fun to plan our weddings together!! The wedding date will be 09.09.09!! (Our lucky number is 9 in our culture.)

CONGRATS TO THE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLE!!

UPDATE: My Mom just cleared things up and said that she didn't give her the scrapbook gift yet because she is not done yet. But they will be exchanging gifts soon!! They are headed to Las Vegas tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving there!!
