Happy New Years Everyone!!

Whooo!! Happy New Years Eve everyone!! Wow, how 2009 has truly flown on by!! So much has happened in 2009, for starters, we started of 2009 with a handful of good friends!! Then I celebrated my 21st birthday with a huge birthday bash at Dave and Busters. Soon following that we had an unforgettable surprise birthday trip for Rey to Reno!! Other big things that happened in 2009 was my Mom's wedding!! And the very last thing 2009 blessed us with was with the purchase of my Mom and Shirley's new home just days before the year ended!! Seriously, 2009 has been such a blessed year and I'm totally looking forward to 2010!! 2010 will be our very last year before we become husband and wife and I just know it's going to be full of exciting wedding planning!! We are so grateful for all of the loving family and friends we've surrounded ourselves with. We are so thankful for how supportive everyone has been and how with every step of the way we are blessed to look by our side and see everyone there rooting us on. We love you guys so much and totally look forward to a kick ass 2010!! Cheers to a new decade!!

Wishing you all a fun and safe New Years. May you all be blessed with a happy and healthy 2010!!

P.S. The picture above is of Rey and I right before we were leaving the house to party!!

Booked Our First Vendor!!!!!!

Can you see the excitement in Rey's eyes?? This photo was taken of us around 2 am on Thursday. We just sent over our deposit!! We are 100% getting our dream photographer!!!!!! We just sat down together and put down our *first* deposit for ANYTHING wedding related.. And Rey held my hand as I pressed submit!! Hehee!! I know it sounds corny, funny, and silly.. But it was a big step for us especially with havnig a long engagement and researching like crazy. Can you see the excitement in Rey's eyes in the photo?? Haha!! I'm excied too, but I'm also really sleepy in the photo. We decided to go ahead and put the deposit down for our photographer, we decided to not wait to put down the deposit til after our venue deposit because our photographer has nothing to do with the venue. No matter where the venue is (although it's already chosen and once I come back from my birthday vacation we're putting down the deposit) we're still going to have the same photographer!!

No turning back now!! Already forked over a hefty amount with the deposit. OMG OMG OMG!! It's really happening, WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!!

And the contract is in the mail in the morning!! (Fax machine is not working right now, grrr!!)

Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and will all have a fun and safe New Years. I know Rey and I will. With 2009 coming to a close, we would like to thank all of our friends and family who have supported us through everything. 2009 has been such a blessed year, we definately look forward to 2010, it's going to be the very last year before we are Mr. & Mrs. we're so excited!! 2009 has gone by so fast, as cliche as it sounds but time sure does fly when you're having fun!! I know 2010 will be over in a blink of an eye and then we'll be married!!

Merry Christmas From Us!!

Merry Christmas everyone!! Above is our holiday greeting picture!! We hope you all had a great holiday with your loved ones!! We know we did!! As usual, we went to mass on Christmas Eve, then came home to have our immediate family dinner with Rey's family. Then after dinner we had some Christmas games, then opened gifts!! I got a great laptop from my Daddy, and a bazillion jackets and tops from his family!! Rey got some clothes, sweaters, and some flasks!! Our stockings has gift cards to Chili's, movie tickets, lotto tickets, gas cards, and cash. We also did a Secret Santa gift exchange between the 7 of us. We ended up going to bed after 5 am!! The next day was the big Christmas dinner for the extended family. It was a lot of fun!! So much food!! Fun gift exchange for our Secret Santa. More gift cards, money, and a beautiful bracelet from his Grandma. Rey and I decided to give each other matching custom made 49er jerseys. His jersey reads, 'Mr. Ramirez' while mine reads, 'Mrs. Ramirez' on the back!!

Over all the whole holidays was amazing, I love spending time with Rey's wonderful family.

We hope everyone is doing well. The New Year is coming, and we're so excited to enter the new year!! 2010 will be the last year of our engagement, and we're so excited to tie the knot!!

Friday was Major Wedding Planning Progress!!

Wow!! What a day Friday was!! My Mom and I had back to back to back meetings for the wedding!! Our first appointment was at our actual venue. My Mom loved it!! The wedding coordinator there was again just so sweet and helpful!! I'd say the tour of the venue was very much a success!! My Mom was able to finally see what Rey and I have been gushing about!! And a major bonus was that it was getting decorated when we got there for a Christmas party!! So great because the tables were all there (including the buffet table) so my Mom was able to see visually how the tables would be set and the amount of room left over. I was blown away by the set up of the buffet, it's literally the longest buffet set up ever!! Guests, be prepared to eat your heart out!! There's SO much food!!

After the venue tour, Mommy and I had yummy sandwiches for lunch, MmMmm!! Then we headed to the florist!! And this is where I was really blown away. My flowers.. Simply AMAZING!! It was so fun choosing flowers and making mock up bouquets to figure out the color, texture, and type of flowers matched our vision. Plus, trying to pronounce all the flowers was hilarious!! We chose what we wanted for my bride's bouquet, my brides maid's bouquets, the groom's boutonniere, the centerpieces, head table decor, and also the gazebo's flowers!! OMG so so so beautiful!! With the holidays all coming up, we get our price quote in January from them. From there we can decide if we want to chose them or not, but we're pretty sure we're choosing them. We saw someone walk in last minute to get an arrangement done. Literally minutes later it was done and it looked amazing!! I guess it's just that magic touch that you just have or don't have. They envision what they want and execute it so well!! Plus, their flowers are SO fresh!! Their arrangements stay fresh looking for weeks!!

After the florist we headed to the bridal boutique where it was literally a one stop shop type of place. They recently moved locations so they aren't open for the public yet. But they will in February!! We got to see samples from the videographer which was great. Most likely we're going to chose them (85% sure). They are very open to all of my ideas for what I want for our video and they are priced fairly well. We also discussed with them hair and make up and chair rentals (like I said, this place had it all!!). We're pretty sure which chairs we want which is good. :)

Ahh Friday was such a success for our wedding planning, we're definitely making progress!! And I love how I'm getting things down now so that way I won't have much to plan later on. We're trying to have EVERYTHING picked out and done 3 months before the wedding. The only thing we want to do for the last 3 months is send in the last of the payments. Doing all the planning with the help of Rey and my Mom (and advice and encouragement from my in laws) has been so great. Yesterday going to all these places with my Mom was intense with emotions. I was so excited and having my Mom there excited with me was such a great bonding experience. Being excited together and seeing things come together with my Mom was so much fun!! Having a mother stand by your side and beyond supportive is such a blessing. I really can't explain how happy it makes me feel, and also having your Mom come with your to these appointments makes everything feel so real!! I guess other brides know what I'm talking about!! Haha!!

After all the appointments I had to rush over to Elephant Bar to meet up Rey and his family. It was his parents 35th wedding anniversary!! Whoo hoo!! Rey's parents already seen the photos of the venue and they loved it, so today I showed them a video I recorded for them of the place and they loved it!! So now all light green and when my Mom get's back from Vegas (she's going there for the holidays for Shirley's family) we can put down the deposit for the venue. And Rey and I are putting down the deposit for our photographer within the week!! No turning back now with the deposits going out!! Hehee!!

As for the rest of the week, one of the highlights was we finally tried out the boiling crab (photo of Rey on location above)!! Rey's been there before and told me all about it, so we went together!! It's a far far drive and for him very much worth it because 1lb of shrimp goes a long way. But for me (because I'm allergic to shrimp), 1lb of crap doesn't fill you up too much. Haha!!

We hope everyone is doing fantastic!! Christmas is almost here!! We hope you all have a great holiday season surrounded by your loved ones!!

In other news, we went to eat at Boiling Crab in San Jose. Rey's been there before and told me all about it, so we went together!! It's a far far drive and for him very much worth it because 1lb of shrimp goes a long way. But for me (because I'm allergic to shrimp), 1lb of crap doesn't fill you up too much. Haha!! There's all kind of seasonings we could add, so we both got the whole sha-bang. However, I will say I got the mild (one away from the most spicy you could get) and it wasn't hot at all. Plus the seasonings were SUPER salty. But perhaps I could taste it more because I hate salt. Rey said it was fine. He loved it!! Haha!! The day we went, we found out within a matter of hours that 3 other people we knew went as well. What a small world that we all chose that far away place to eat all on the same day!! LOL!! Anyone else been??

Wedding Updates!!

Hey everyone!! So it's time for another update!! Well, as many of you know I'm wearing my Mother's wedding dress!! And the photo above is the catalog photo!! It's not much of a shocker because just about my whole family was at my Mom's wedding so they already know what it looks like!! Haha, plus her wedding photos are all over my Facebook, so everyone's seen it there as well. However, we are doing alterations on it to make it a little more "me", so you will all have to just hang tight and see it on the day of the wedding!!

In other news, tomorrow (Friday the 18th) my Mom and I are going to tour the wedding venue which has stolen our hearts!! Hopefully Rey's parents can make it too for this tour, it would be great so they can see the same vision and ask questions together, but if not it's okay. It's actually his parents 35th year anniversary that day, so I doubt they'd want to spend it looking at our venue, and I'd definitely be more than happy to go back again to show them. I just can't get enough of looking at that place!! After the tour of the venue, we're meeting with a potential florist!! Then after that, we're meeting with a potential videographer, hair and make up, and also the place where we may rent chairs. Then after all those meetings, I have to rush back to the Pennisula by 7:30 for anniversary dinner with the in laws!! Ahh, so much stuff going on now, I'm so excited!! I've been waiting forever for this day to come!! I had to make these appointments 3-4 weeks ago because my Mom was just getting surgery at the time. She's doing better now, still having a hard time walking but she's doing much better. I think she's returning to work in a week.

Aside from wedding stuff, we've just been busy with our finals. Oh and we are also taking our holiday photos this week, which like every year we'll send to everyone via email (GO GREEN!!). Last week I saw my Dad!! I got to spend time with him and my Step Mom Joy, and we also visited one of my Step Sisters Icee at her job. I also got my Christmas gift from them, but I can't open it yet!! I'm taking a stab out there and going to guess it's a laptop. It's the same size as a laptop box, it's got a plastic handle under the wrapping like a laptop, and it's also got the box opening (yes, I can tell just by touching it!!) of a laptop!! Hehee!! We shall see on Christmas Day!! We hope you all are enjoying the winter, yet staying warm!! One more week til Christmas!!

Update: I'm sick!!

A little update.. I'm sick. Like always right?? Ughh!! (you could read more on my sickness in detail on how it's effecting the planning process on the wedding blog.) Aside from being sick, what else is new?? All the Christmas decorations are up at the Millbrae house. They were putting them up since late October and early November. But all the finishing touches were added a few days ago. They've even got a bunch of gifts under the tree already!! The picture from above is one of the lit up snow mens from the Millbrae house!! On Thanksgiving his family did their annual Chris Kringle (Secret Santa, but they call it Chris Kringle) which is great because it means we just buy one person a gift and not everyone. This year were not buying a lot of people gifts, and for those we are buying gifts its not going to be anything big. We're saving money for not only the wedding but for our move in 2010.

And I just wanted to share that this coming Saturday is my Mom's birthday!! YAY!! Happy early birthday Mom!! So blessed to have her in my life. She's definatelely a wonderful woman. Wonder Woman. :)

Hope everyone is doing well. Until next time!!

Sorry this video is so short, there wasn't much room to video tape because there was so many people walking behind me looking at me like I'm a weirdo video taping some beauty products. Haha!!

ELF Studio Powder Brush vs. Face Secrets Powder Buff Brush Review!!

Hope this helps you guys to see the differences in these two brushes. Here's is a video comparison of the ELF Studio Powder Brush vs the Face Secrets Powder Buff Brush from Sallys. The ELF Powder Brush is $3 from their Studio line, however I got it in their 11 Piece Brush Collection. The collection is $30, which is great because if you were to buy the brushes individually it would be $38. This makes each brush in the set come out to about $2.78 cents. Plus it also comes with a carry case!! I cannot say enough great things about this Studio line. Very impressive. The Face Secrets brush is about $7.99. Online the brush handle looks like a light brown color however my handle on my brush is all dark black. And I'm serious when I say the Face Secrets brush literally smells!!

You can watch the great video I spoke about in the video from a great YouTuber named guitarrasara. She does a great video on how she found out the ELF Studio brush was made of wood!! Check her out here!!

Hope you found this helpful!! And please remember these videos are designed to my YouTube channel so any text or movement saying the information is to the right, that is directed to my YouTube viewers. What is to the left for YouTube is here below the video for my blog readers to see!!

Paranormal Activity Review!!

Wow seriously?? Where did this movie go wrong?? First off, it's like the Blare Witch Project. It's made to look homemade to give it a scary "real" feel. This isn't a documentary folks. I hate when movies say it's "based on a true story". It makes it sound real but its not. It may be that there was a couple who thought they lived in a scary house and they lived in San Diego however none of this stuff really happened. Throwing around the words "based on a true story" doesn't mean squat to me. After all, how much of it is real??

Second of all, this movie is SO SLOW!! I got warned it was slow in the beginning, but I never thought it would be slow throughout. I thought the end of the movie was the beginning because that's when it started to get a bit of action. In addition this same friend told me the ending scene was "the shit" and well.. They show the ending scene in the trailer so it wasn't really "the shit" once I already saw it. Literally everything in the trailer is the "big parts" in the movie. Just watch the trailer and ta-da!! It's the whole movie!! It was all very predictable. You could ask Rey, many times throughout the movie I whispered over to him what was going to happen next. Haha!!

No need to say I was deeply disappointed in this movie once I heard rave reviews on it. plus the "in demand" for this movie. The producers made it seem to "limited". I wish I would have saved my money. I don't even think this is worth renting nor seeing for free when it hits a TV channel. Ughh, so lame!!

1/5. So wack, however I did laugh a few times because I thought there was some stupid parts and also because the way the audience reacted like little babies over every little thing!!

Law Abiding Citizen Review!!

I often times find movies good, however I rarely find a movie that was worth the $10.25 x 2 for the movie ticket entry, then the $20 on popcorn and drinks, however I will say this this movie was worth it!!

Rey invited some of our good friends out and we went to watch this movie. It was sweet because he remembered that when I saw the preview for this movie, I had wanted to watch it!! So off we went to the movies. The movie was so good! It was very suspenseful!! Good action when you least expected it! Never once did I check my watch!! And I even groaned when Rey had to get up to pee because I didn't want him to miss anything!! The movie is so good!! In the beginning it goes straight into the story (and it also made me tear up! So heart wrenching!!), which was good because I hate a movie which lags and takes forever to get on with the story (Not to throw you under the bus Paranormal Activity!!). There were many moments in the movie where I didn't see what was coming which was great. I don't want to give away any spoilers but after the movie when we all walked out of the theater we all said what a great movie it was and how we felt like we got our moneys worth!! Go watch it!!

5/5!! Doesn't get any better than this!! Very suspenseful!!

E.L.F. Review!!

As you all have seen my mini video hall (if not you could watch it here), I was sharing with you guys on some of the goodies I got while at K-Mart. Well, here is a little review blog on the items I have tried. I haven't tried em all, but this is what I've tried so far. And just as an update, I already placed my other order for the brushes and I've been waiting for 4 days. It still hasn't been shipped out. They take forever with their processing, it's quite annoying. Anyways onward with the reviews, in order here is what we'll review today:

$1 E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color in Drama 2007/81201
Their eyeshadow is a bit powdery and loose. However this quad is very dense. Not only is their black very dark, but their white is very very white!! This product is pretty true to color. However I lightly put this over my Too Faced Shadow Insurance and it still didn't stay on that well. I'd give this a 3/5.

$1 E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color in Silver Lining 2003/90302
Very similar to the Drama quad with consistency. However this isn't as dense. I'd give this a 3/5 as well.

The Brightening Eye Color in Drama swatches are on top while the Brightening Eye Color in Silver Lining is on the bottom. Again this was put over lightly applied Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

$1 E.L.F. Liquid Eyeshadow in Coco Loco 7403
$1 E.L.F. Liquid Eyeshadow in Green Machine 7405
$1 E.L.F. Liquid Eyeshadow in Sultry Satin 7401
$1 E.L.F. Liquid Eyeshadow in Misty Mauve 7406
Again, these swatches are in order from the photo and list above!!
I love love love this!! It's amazing!! I haven't put it on my eyes yet so I can't tell you about the creasing or smudging, however when I tried to wash this off with soap, I had to scrub pretty hard!! And wash it two times over!! The colors are so dense!! And it's very creamy!! I love this!! 5/5 so far!!

$1 E.L.F. Water Resistant Liquid Eyeliner in Black
This is a fantastic eyeliner!! It's very dense, dark true black. And it does not smudge at all!! It stays on so well!! The best liquid eyeliner I've ever tried!! The only down side is the tip is crazy hard and when I accidentally poked myself in my eye it hurt, however the good thing is that when the product went into my eye, it didn't sting!! Yippee!! I give it a 5/5!!

And although I didn't buy this at the time, I had previously bought it and thought I should share it with you guys:

$1 Gentle Lip Scrub
Eh, it's nothing fabulous. One light coat feels good, melts pretty well on your lips. but if you put more than one then your lips will feel so waxy you could scrape the wax off your lips. Plus even when it's stored properly it still dries out and makes it hard to melt on your lips. The scent isn't very pleasant either, smells very waxy. I'd like to see them make this product a bit more moist and also maybe cherry scented!! I give it a 2/5.

That's about it for now, I'll keep you all updated when the next package comes in!!

And please remember these videos are designed to my YouTube channel so any text or movement saying the information is to the right, that is directed to my YouTube viewers. What is to the left for YouTube is here below the video for my blog readers to see!!

L.A. Colors Shimmer Loose Eyeshadow Review!!

Here are some L.A. Colors Shimmer Loose Eyeshadow. I got them in 5 colors! You could find these for about $1 at Forever 21, Love 21, and also many discount shops like Big Lots or even the dollar store!! As you all know, with all cosmetics no matter how expensive or cheap I do a little research to see how good the product is. If it gets an average of 3/5 then I get it. If it gets any lower than that, I pass on it good. The colors I got from left to right were:

-Sunshine BES402
-Honey Suckle BES401
-Snow White BES400
-Radiant BES404
-Lollipop BES403

And here above are the swatches of the colors in the same order shown in the first picture and also listed!! All I used was my Two Faced Shadow Insurance. My favorite color out of all of them was Sunshine and also Radiant. Would I buy this again?? Maybe the Sunshine and Radiant, and maybe even the Lollipop, but not the others. I'm planning on doing a video blog review for this, so keep an eye out everyone!!

My vote is a 2.5/5 for the Sunshine and Radiant, and about a 2 for everything else.

Candies Sunglasses for Only .99!!

You did *NOT* read the title wrong!! It's true!! I as I was looking around at dollar stores for some cheap vases to put my make up brushes in, I stumbled upon this at the dollar store!! Candies sunglasses which were originally sold at Kohl's (I know that because that's what the tag says!!). And this is great because I needed some new sunglasses!! Doesn't it make you wanna go out to your local dollar store??

Update!!

Pandorum Movie Review!!

This was right up Rey's alley!! He loves futuristic type of movies. Eh, not so my style however I will say that this was a pretty good movie, especially for it being something not of my genre type. I was scared at least 2 times, hiding behind my hands, ha!! I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but I will say... Why is it that the Asian character can never make it!? Gosh, come on now people!! Let an Asian character live!! Haha!!

The movie is a good length, not too long, not too short. It's got alright graphics. And it does make you think a bit, with a twist at the end. Over all a pretty good movie. Rey like this better than Surrogates, but I like Surrogates better than this movie. I guess it's because this type of movie his his genre and Surrogates is a bit more my style. This is def. a good rental!!

3/5 for me!! Pretty good for being a genre outta my box!!

Surrogates Movie Review!!

Good movie!! Bruce Willis is such a great actor!! This is a great movie with action and another reason why I liked it was because it had a good moral at the end of the story which is, humans are lazy!! Haha!! This movie is suspenseful, and makes you think throughout the movie (but not too much!!). I was tripping off the machines faces, the make up they did on the actors to make them look robotic was so neat!! But it's kinda funky how Bruce Willis' mouth barely moved in robot form. Haha!! You have to see the movie to understand what I'm talking about. Throughout the whole movie, I was laughing on how perfect the robots were!! The make up work was amazing!!

4/5 stars!! A very good rental!! Wouldn't be disappointed paying for a matinee!!

The Informant Movie Review!!

Not really knowing what the Informant was going to be about, I went in with an open mind, after all it was Matt Damon and he usually makes great movies!! Thinking it may however be action, I was deeply disappointed. This movie takes forever to get the basic idea what the movie is about. I'm assuming there were suppose to be funny moments, however I didn't laugh. If I look at my phone for the time during a movie, that means the movie isn't good. I looked at my phone several times to check for the time!! I wanted the movie to be over with. I even went into a light sleep, it was so boring!! Have you ever seen the movie Bug?? If so, then you know that Bug was the worst movie I've ever seen in my life. Well.. This movie is creeping up there next to Bug. This is the second worst movie I've ever seen in my entire life. I don't even recommend renting it for $1 at RedBox. Hell I wouldn't even watch it on TV for free!!

0/5 stars. This movie is horrible!!

Zombieland Movie Review!!

Alrighty folks, so for those of you know know me and my Fiancee Rey really well then you guys all know that we are movie junkies!! My soon to be Father in Law loves going to the movies so we go to the movies just about once a week, watching two movies at a time. Plus I watch movies at home all the time thanks to NetFlix and also my local RedBox!!

Rey and his sister Gen are zombie freaks and they've been waiting to see Zombieland for MONTHS!! So you bet opening day we went to go watch it!! (Sadly Gen couldn't make it, she was busy working.) All I have to say is Zombieland was way better than what I expected!! Zombieland > Shaun of the Dead It's hilarious!! I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but seriously I suggest seeing it ASAP!! You'll get a great laugh!! The type of comedy really reminds me of that new type of comedy, not the old school stuff like Shaun of the Dead. It's hard to explain, you'll just have to see!! Reminds me of Pineapple Express, the Hangover, type of comedy!! Good times!!

I give it 5/5 stars for a light hearted funny movie!!

While Trying to be Productive..

Here I am, on a Sunday night, trying to be productive by making a video to poll readers on a school project. I'm trying to see which balloon animal the general public finds fun, easy to learn (but not too easy) and entertaining. As I'm almost done with the video I realize.. MY CAMERA DIED!! Ughh!! So I then jumped into the shower as my camera was charging. And when I came out I tried to tape again, and BAM it died AGAIN when I'm almost done. Haha. I really give up. I think I'll end up doing the dog because it's easy (but not as easy as the mouse) and it's also great for both boys and girls!! I'll let you guys know how it goes tomorrow in class!!

My Mom's Wedding 09/09/09

My Mom's wedding just passed on 09/09/09, and it was great to see all of my family again after 11 years!! The ceremony was held at the Berkeley Rose Garden and the reception followed at the Legendary Palace in Oakland. Today, 9/11 my Mom is arriving in Paris for her honeymoon. Here are a few photos from the wedding events!!

Rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.
Dinner at a really yummy Thai restaurant in Berkeley!

The wedding day.

(The first photo is what a lot of my friends have been waiting for!! The reveal of my wedding dress, a catalog photo of my Mom's wedding dress, which I will be wearing at mine and Rey's wedding as well!!) In the family photos, the lady in the wheel chair is my Great Grandmother!!

The reception.
And yes, the photo of me crying in my Mom's arms is a photo from our Mother Daughter dance.

More photos to come later, especially those from the professional photographer!! So keep your eyes pealed for it!!
