The 5 day vacation ended up extending to 6 days. The morning when we left the cabin to come home around 6:45 am it was super dark we can barely see the road, there's black ice, and its mad snowing. An alert just came on for chains for those who don't have 4 wheel drive and snow tires. Road worker pulled us over to tell us to be careful because it just got real bad. The SUV spun out of control onto the other side of the road and we crashed into the icy wall. The car was beat up, and the snowboards which were locked into the racks busted open and flew out. My life truly flashed before my eyes when the car spun out of control. I am so thankful we crashed where we did and not before or after that section or else it would have been at the cliff. I'm so happy that we didn't crash into that on coming car, thankfully they pulled over and stopped as we were spinning on the ice. Goodness knows what would have happened if they didn't. Our group ended up splitting up because some people still wanted to drive because if they didn't we'd have to wait til Thursday for the snow to clear. I didn't feel comfortable with that because for starters the driver never drove that route, plus the weather, and the car was banged up, and in addition, even if you drive safely you cannot control the other drivers on the road so they may crash into you know what I mean?? So Rey and I along with one other friend decided to take the Grey Hound which transfer us to a safe train ride home. 16 hours after the accident, we are finally home safe. It was so crazy. I am so grateful to be alive and that we all walked out safely.
Such an eventful birthday trip. Haha!!
